It was the work of the great peanut wizard, the late Dr. George Washington Carver, who first inspired my father in 1945, about the wondrous peanut and all of its byproducts. George Washington Carver regretted he never made a product from the peanut to relieve aches and pains.

52 years ago my father realized Dr. Carver's dream by inventing a pain relieving medicine from the peanut, called "Ringmaster Rubbing Oi1" My father was trying to help a man who was suffering from the pains of a leg amputation. He kept failing at his attempt to mix a topical medication to help him, until one night, Dr. Carver revealed the formula to him in a dream. After the man applied the medicine he was able to sleep through the night for the first time in two years. The excitement of being able help someone feel better gave him the encouragement to embark upon an amazing 53 year journey around the country and parts of the world, helping people to fight pain.

The evidence of his 53-year mission is documented on 3000 hours of audio and video taped conversations with the people he helped. This amazing collection of tapes and letters tells an absolutely astounding story. They reveal a profound message of how human touch laced with love, prayer, faith and hope can lift pain from the deepest recesses of the body. The message from these tapes resonates over and over again, unlocking both the emotional and spiritual secrets to healing.

As a child of the depression, he was absolutely dedicated to helping poor, suffering people, who could not afford decent medical treatment, or who had simply given up any hope of getting better. He feels that by making an affordable medicine, more people can have hope for relieving pain. Many nights all six of us children worked at the dining room table labeling and boxing medicine so he could leave on another mission of mercy (over the years we wore two inches off the table legs) During his travels he rubbed people, prayed with them, counseled them on their personal problems and through it all developed legions of friends, prayer partners and healed people.

The best way to describe my father is that of a Humanitarian, Spiritualist, Medicine Man, union organizer, activist and philosopher. A very special person who has dedicated his life to helping those in need. His commitment took root in 1932 while he was struggling to recover from a deadly infection that almost took his life. He made a promise to his grandfather, Morgan Ray, if he survived the night he would dedicate his life to helping others.

This promise to Morgan Ray was not taken lightly. Grandfather Ray was a man of God with unwavering principles. If you made a promise to him you kept it. Throughout his life Morgan Ray was unable to read or write a simple sentence, but through a divine revelation he was inspired to read and interpret the entire Protestant Bible fluently. My father is, in many ways, much like his grandfather, both men of God with uncompromising values and determination. Even though he has nearly died on five different occasions he continued to place the welfare of others above his own. He was a caregiver to the homeless, a cook for the hungry, a consoler for the weary. Today, at 87 years old he continues his efforts to relieve pain
